Recruitment milestone and new site
- The 12th month of the year sees the opening of our 14th trial site at Norfolk & Norwich – a big thank you to the team for making this possible.
- We also mark another important milestone: the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle has successfully enrolled its 50th participant.
- A big thank you to all our sites and participants for their continued commitment to advancing this research and to extend our warmest wishes to all families and staff for a joyful festive season and a prosperous New Year.

First recruitment and 3 new sites
Congratulations to Queen Alexander Hospital who having only opened yesterday, are happy to report that they have already recruited the first baby!
We’re also pleased to announce the addition of two more sites to the trial that are now open to recruitment, Medway Maritime Hospital and Southmead Hospital.

BALLOON open to recruitment
BALLOON opened to recruitment in March 2025.
Our first three sites Hull Royal Infirmary, University Hospital of Wales and Royal Victoria Infirmary are now open to recruitment. We hope to see more sites joining very soon.
